1. Video, Audio and Text You Send for Processing

What we collect

When you choose to create a clip, Commentator AI sends a trimmed and compressed copy of the video you selected — including its audio track, up to the first 90 seconds — off your device for processing. Location and camera metadata are removed from that copy before it is sent. We also send the commentary script generated for your clip, including any lines you edit yourself, and the render settings you chose (commentator, energy, voice).

How we collect it

Only from the video you explicitly pick in the app's picker, and only after you have agreed to the in-app disclosure shown before your first render. We do not scan or access your photo library otherwise.

How it is used

Solely to produce the commentary for that clip: the video is analysed to write timed commentary, and the resulting script is turned into speech. It is not used for advertising, profiling or any other purpose.

Who we share it with

Commentator AI does not operate its own servers. The only third parties that receive your content are the AI services that perform the processing:

• Google LLC (Gemini 2.5 Flash on Google Cloud Vertex AI) — receives the clip and writes the commentary. Privacy policy
• ElevenLabs, Inc. — receives the commentary text only, never your video, and returns the synthesised voice and crowd audio. Privacy policy

Each provider is bound by their own privacy terms, which provide protection equal to or greater than that described in this policy, and neither is permitted to use your content to train their models under the terms we use them on.

Retention

Commentator AI operates no server of its own. Your clips, renders, transcripts and settings are stored only on your device and are deleted when you delete them or remove the app. The providers above process your content on their servers under their own retention policies.

Your control

You can withdraw permission at any time in Settings → Data & AI processing. With it off, nothing is sent and clip creation is unavailable.

2. What Stays on Your Device

Commentator AI does not create accounts and does not collect personal data. Everything listed below stays on your device only and is never transmitted to us.

Clips, renders and settings

• Your imported and rendered clips
• Your clip library metadata: sport, duration, commentator used, transcript of the call
• Your settings: preferred commentator, energy level, caption style

Voice descriptions

If you build a custom voice, the text description you wrote and the resulting generated voice are stored on your device so they're available for your future clips.

Subscription status

Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple or Google through their in-app purchase systems. We do not receive or store your purchase history, receipt data, or any payment information.

3. How We Use Information

• To generate commentary, voiceover and captions for the clip you choose
• To keep your clips and custom voices on your device so you can return to them
• To provide customer support when you contact us
• To improve the accuracy and reliability of the service

4. What We Don't Do

• We don't sell your personal information
• We don't publish or share your clips publicly
• We don't use your uploaded footage for advertising

5. Other Third-Party Services

Payments are handled entirely by Apple and Google through their in-app purchase systems — we never see your card details, and we do not receive or store purchase receipts. The only third parties that receive any content from the app are the AI providers named in Section 1.

6. Data Retention

Your clips, renders, transcripts and settings are stored only on your device and are deleted when you delete them or remove the app. The AI providers named in Section 1 process your content on their servers under their own retention policies.

7. Your Rights

• Delete individual clips and voices from your device at any time
• Remove the app to delete all locally stored data
• Withdraw consent and stop using the service at any time
• Contact us with privacy questions

8. Children's Privacy

Commentator AI is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Because your clips and settings are stored only on your device, they remain under your control. Content sent to the AI providers named in Section 1 is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your content.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by updating the date above.
